Enclosed Variable Speed Starters
The Eaton PowerXL DE1, Variable Speed Starters (VSS) is a device that bridges the gap between a magnetic starter and a variable frequency drive. Palmer DCS expands the functionality of PowerXL DE1 by offering it in NEMA type 1 and NEMA type 4 rated enclosures, with a HOA switch, fusing for motor protection, step down transformer to support switches, relays and pilots lights, and terminals for easy field wiring.

The EVSS is ideal for applications which call for the motor control of a variable frequency drive but maintains the lower cost and ease of use of a magnetic starter. In addition, the EVSS is more energy-efficient and provides enhanced motor protection as compared to a magnetic starter.
